DESCRIPTION
The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) is Australia’s pre-emient environment organisation, with a strong reputation for policy and campaigning. As with many non-profits, ACF is increasingly weaving the internet into its work and adapting to a changed political and media landscape.
Initally, ACF asked Make Believe to facilitate a morning workshop with the CEO and senior leadership team — exploring good practices and opportunities in diverse areas such as social media, online fundraising, mass email, text messaging, video, and integrating online & offline community organising. This workshop enabled all present to get up to speed with the latest trends, discuss how these might be of practical relevance to ACF, and explore related strategic, structural and cultural challenges — such as maintaining a culture of experimentation.
Building on the success of these workshops, Make Believe was commissioned to run two days of training and discussion with more than 60 staff across fundraising & marketing, campaigning and communications divisions. We have subsequently supported ACF on a number of test campaign projects, and continue to act as a brains trust on communications & campaigning.
