The Global Poverty Project came to Make Believe with a challenge: create an engaging web video that raised awareness of poverty issues and increase their base of supporters taking action.

After years exposed to videos of sick children covered in flies – and celebrity endorsements – this is no easy feat. How to breath new life into the mission to end poverty? Our solution: to imagine a world in which it had already been achieved, and in which you – the recipient – had made it possible.

Visitors to our special microsite were greeted with a special personalised video — featuring a news cast of the global celebrations, reports of charities closing down, and analysis of what celebrity spokespeople would find to do next with their lives. But it’s probably better you check it out for yourself.

To take action – and truly play their part in poverty reduction – visitors could sign up to the Global Poverty Project’s action alert list, and also send a pre-customised video to their friends.

Several non-profits including 1Goal, Christian Aid, Oxfam and others also promoted the video to their supporters.
